"Thirsty Planet"

"This story spans a century showing how our choices today could affect the future. The dystopian future is ruined by corporate greed and environmental insensitivity. Along comes a brilliant scientist with an idea to literally turn back the clock to change the future. Two characters come together against all odds and make it all possible against the backdrop of a religious awakening. Is it coincidence or a divine plan? This is a wonderful story with many layers. Peel the onion and enjoy."

"A well thought out 'look' about the possible future of the Earth, if changes aren't made by big business. Water is in such short supply that people are literally killing for it."

"This author has intrigued me, confused me and amazed me. I really had a hard time putting this together at first. But as the story moved on, thing's started to come together and flow. I got hooked and drawn into the characters and their lives and problems. Their problems felt like I was involved in them and entertained my own ideas on how to help solve this. I really enjoyed the characters and their interactions and the entertaining mystery of the ending. I finished it with a feeling of hope and enjoyment. Very good job."

"The Thirsty Planet was an intriguing look at the near future where decisions are being made about the global warming crisis and a distant future, where the effects of the earlier decisions are being felt. I liked the interaction of the two plot lines. And I suspected that Tell would bring them together in a satisfying conclusion. What surprised me was the apparent references to Old Testament characters and events in the distant future plot line, even in the names of the characters. So if Tell did not intend a picture of the Exodus, it nevertheless comes out."

"This book was great from cover to cover. The issues that were addressed were extremely relevant and the author managed to capture them in a very exciting, extraordinary way."

"You may recognize the conduct of some of the characters portrayed in this book! Grass roots revolt taking place 100 years in the future linked with conservation efforts in the near future. The time travel is a bit of a stretch, but who would've thought 30 years ago we would be where we are!! Good plot with well developed characters, Robert Tell is to be congratulated"

"I enjoyed this thoughtful, well-written story. Thirsty Planet kept me turning the pages as the storyline cut back and forth from the very near future (about 12 years hence) to a future a hundred years later. The story speculates about some possible consequences of Global Warming and the indiscriminate consumption of the Earth's natural resources. The reader sees the world through the eyes of the characters. The future is a bleak place as the world teeters on the edge of oblivion. Chaos, starvation and thirst are the constant companions of all but the very wealthiest. The unchecked powers of greedy conglomerates who have taken control of the government with complete impunity and disregard for anyone but themselves seem believable and not that far-fetched to me. It's a cautionary tale that is also an exciting mystery. I agree with another reviewer - I think this story would make a great movie!"
